$200M Mega Millions Ticket Won by Steve Williams of Shenandoah, Virginia

There was one jackpot-winning ticket in the October 16 Mega Millions drawing.
That ticket, which was purchased in Shenandoah, Virginia, wins the estimated $200 million jackpot.

The winning numbers were 10-13-18-33-51, and the Mega Ball was 43.

The ticket was purchased at Valley’s, located at 601 4th Street in Shenandoah, Virginia.
The store that sold the ticket is also a winner – it will receive a $50,000 bonus from the Virginia Lottery.

This was the 6th Mega Millions jackpot ticket sold in Verginia since the start of the game in 2002.

Mega Millions has been hot in Virginia this year. This is the third jackpot winner of 2009 in the Commonwealth. On May 1, Joe Denette of Spotsylvania County won $75.6 million (he selected the cash option of $47.8 million) and on May 15, Joe and Sue Claffy of Rappahannock County won a $19 million jackpot (they chose the cash option of $11.5 million).

They say good things come to those who wait. Steve Williams of Shenandoah, Virginia, would probably agree. For nearly five months he waited, holding a Mega Millions ticket that he knew was worth $200 million. Finally, on March 12, 2010, he officially claimed his prize, becoming the second-largest winner in the Virginia Lottery’s history.
