  • Sunday (January 22, Chinese New Year's Eve), Monday (January 23, Chinese New Year's Day) and Tuesday (January 24) are statutory holidays. There is an adjustment for extending the Chinese New Year public holiday (Saturday January 21 and Sunday January 22 are workdays instead of Wednesday January 24 and Thursday January 25, and Sunday January 29 is workday instead of Friday January 27), together with Saturday January 28, a seven-day holiday from January 22 to January 28 is formed.

  • Wednesday (April 4) is a statutory holiday. Because March 31 (Saturday) and April 1 (Sunday) are workdays instead of Monday April 2 and Tuesday April 3, a three-day holiday is formed (Monday 2-Wednesday 4).

  • May 1 is a statutory holiday. Because April 28 (Saturday) is a workday instead of April 30 (Monday), a three-day holiday is formed (Sunday April 30-Tuesday May1).

  • June 23 (Dragon Boat Festival) is a statutory holiday, but this falls on a Saturday, so the Saturday is transferred to Monday. In 2012, three days of public holiday is allowed, consisting of a statutory holiday (June 23), a Sunday (June 24) and a deferred Saturday (June 25).

  • **In 2012, it is rare that National Day (October 1) right follows on Mid-Autumn Day Festival (September 30). September 30 (Sunday), October 1 (Monday), October 2 (Tuesday) and October 3 (Wednesday) are four statutory holidays. There is an adjustment for extending the public holidays of Mid-Autumn Day Festival and National Day: Saturday September 29 is workday instead of Thursday October 4, and Friday October 5 is taken placed by a deferred Sunday (September 30), together with the following weekend (October 6 and October 7), an eight-day holiday from September 30 to October 7 is produced.
