National Foundation Day is a public holiday in South Korea on October 3. Also known by the name Gaecheonjeol Day.
This holiday celebrates the creation of the state of ancient Korea (Gojoseon)
founded by Dangun Wanggeom in the year 2333 BCE.
Gaecheonjeol" means "Heaven-opened Day.

Go-Joseon, or Old Korea (2333 - 206 BC), was the first Korean kingdom.
According to popular legend, Korea was founded in southern Manchuria in the basins of the Liao and Taedong Rivers.
Foundation day in South Korea is a National public holiday.
The day celibrated with various activities like public speeches,
Taekwon-do and other performances by various artists.
All schools, public offices and private offices remain closed
to honor the South Korean Founding day.
